WASHINGTON (WHTC-AM/FM) – Holland tourism officials have a fresh arrow to put in their quiver in targeting visitors to the Tulip City.
The online financial consulting website WalletHub has put together its 2019 Best Beach Towns in Live In report, running the rule over 192 communities nationwide across what it calls 62 key metrics involving a variety of quality of life topics. Holland finished fourth overall among lake beach vicinities, placing as high as 3rd in its foreclosure rate and 8th in housing costs, and as low as 27th in median annual property taxes and 29th in violent crime rate.
Traverse City topped WalletHub’s national list of 46 lake beach towns with populations of between 10 thousand and 150 thousand and having at least a beach listed on another website, TripAdvisor. Alpena was 18th and Port Huron 31st as the other Michigan communities in this category.
