UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM, May 24, 2022) – The high school graduation season along the Lakeshore begins on Tuesday night.
While Holland Christian High holds its commencement on campus, Holland High graduates get their diplomas at DeVos Fieldhouse. District Superintendent Nick Cassidy says that the Class of 2022, as other senior classes can attest, has gone through a lot during the past four years. “It’s a very exciting time,” he said in a recent appearance on “WHTC Talk of the Town.” “I’m just so glad we’re getting back to some level of tradition and normalcy that our kids haven’t had in the last four years. It’s been pretty much a normal end of the year for our kids, and that’s what we wanted to give them.”
On Thursday evening, West Ottawa High, Hamilton High, Saugatuck High, Fennville High and Calvary Schools of Holland will all hold their graduation ceremonies, while DeVos Fieldhouse will be the setting for the two Zeeland commencements next week – East on June 1 and West the following night. Black River Public School has its graduation at Christ Memorial Church next Thursday as well.
