Jerry was born and raised in Zeeland and was a graduate of West Ottawa High School. He was very mechanical and enjoyed working with his hands. He worked for many years driving a truck for Amerigas.
Jerry was always willing to help out his friends and family and he will be deeply missed by those who survive, including his mother, Mary Lou VanderSlik; daughters: Jennifer VanderSlik, and Melissa (Jason) Gibson; granddaughter, Kylee Gibson; brothers: Larry VanderSlik, Brian VanderSlik, Cal (Cherrie) VanderSlik.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father Jerome VanderSlik.
A memorial service for Jerry will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 27, 2022, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland. Rev. Mark Waterstone will officiate. Following the service, there will be a time of visitation and light refreshments at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Spectrum Hospice.
