HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Message from Ottawa County Emergency Manager Nick Bonstell: “Ottawa County experienced a line of severe thunderstorms around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday (July 20, 2019). Several emergency response agencies responded to multiple power lines and trees down throughout the county. Georgetown Township had the largest share of the calls for service during this time.
Several roads have trees down and drivers are advised to take extreme caution when traveling around the Georgetown Township area in the morning. There are currently over 10,000 homes and businesses without power in Ottawa County. Please be patient as Consumers Energy and other response partner’s work to clear road debris and restore power.
Georgetown Township Fire Department, along with Ottawa County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service will be out surveying the damage from the storms on Saturday.
