HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — There’s a red-flag warning all along the mid-West Michigan Lakeshore today though late tonight, according to the National Weather Service Grand Rapids meteorologists.
High-water levels, combined with waves hitting 3 feet are creating strong currents and dangerous swimming conditions.
Authorities are asking people not to swim in Lake Michigan, where rip currents are likely present. Even experienced swimmers can tire quickly under these conditions and be swept away.
Today searchers are hoping to recover the body of a 38-year-old man who drowned in Lake Michigan near Ludington.
