HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Ottawa County has instituted a ban on sprinkling and non-essential water use through noon Monday, July 29, 2019, for residents of Allendale Charter Township, PolktonTownship and the City of Coopersville that are connected to municipal water.
Allendale, Polkton and Coopersville residents are being asked to restrict water use in order to allow the City of Grand Rapids time to repair a leak in their transmission main. During the repair, available water to the affected utilities will be reduced.
The water will still be safe to drink.
With these water use restrictions in place, residents can expect to have enough water during the repair. County officials are calling for everyone to do their part to help conserve water during this period in order to avoid further restrictions, according to a statement emailed to media from the Ottawa County officials.
