HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Holland resident Alexander J. Torres, 31, died early Sunday, July 28, 2019, in a fall in Illinois, according to the News-Tribune,
He and his wife had been in La Salle County for a wedding at the Starved Rock Lodge, in the Starved Rock State Park, near Utica, IL.
Authorities indicated Torres had crossed into a restricted area, onto a cliff at Starved Rock Lodge, then fell 30 feet. Emergency responders were able to recover his body.
The incident remains under investigation, according to police.
He is the son of retired Holland Police Detective Drew Torres.
