HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The Alliance for Cultural and Ethnic Harmony (ACEH) will hold its 21st annual Potluck in the Park from 1-4:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019, at Dunton Park Pavilion, 290 Howard Ave.
“Our potluck is a great way to come together as a community and enjoy the wonderful diversity of our area,” said ACEH president C.J. Kingdom-Grier, in a statement emailed to media. “Bring your family, friends, and neighbors, and make it a point to invite someone who is new to West Michigan.”
People attending are asked to bring a dish to share, from their own heritage if possible, and lawn chairs for extra seating.
ACEH provides table service, beverages, and hot dogs.
Drew Peirce, executive director of Good Samaritan Ministries in Holland, will talk about what’s being done to meet the need for affordable housing, what’s anticipated, and what residents can do to further the cause.
The potluck will feature a variety of games and activities, including the Tug of Peace and musical tiles; clay art with Annie Olson; a peace symbol craft with social-justice author Lisa Van Engen, and more.
ACEH was founded in Holland in 1999 to work for justice, equal opportunity, appreciation for diversity, and cross-cultural understanding.
