HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Labor Day parades and bridge walks are happening all around Michigan this holiday weekend.
In Holland and Zeeland, instead of groups of workers walking a parade route, spectators will see the 14th annual truck parade.
This year, says co-organizer Shannon Yanek, there’s a wide range of companies represented by 75 trucks.
“We have trucks reflecting small businesses with one employee, and trucks representing some of the largest employers in Ottawa County,” she said.
Co-organizer Jim Hutt says the end of the parade will feature a special truck display of the latest and greatest big rigs.
“They can see the latest models being made today, brand new,” he said. “Dealers are putting their best foot forward.”
The Zeeland Holland truck parade starts at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 2 at Herman Miller in Zeeland, and ends in the Holland Civic Center Place parking lot.
The parade route will leave from Herman miller in Zeeland, west on Main, then detouring away from the Washington roundabout, which is under construction, to go south on State Street.
Yanek says people with sensitive ears, especially small children, should have ear protection.
