HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A single-car crash at 64th avenue and Mesa View drive in Zeeland Township sent a teen to the hospital, just before 9:30 last night, Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies found a 16-year-old Zeeland township girl, at the wheel of a 2006 Chevrolet Impala, was southbound on 64th Avenue when she lost control of the car.
The car drifted off the right side of the road; the driver over-corrected, causing the vehicle to spin off the road, hitting a mailbox, fence, then a power pole, which in turn caused the power lines to fall on the car.
The driver went by AMR ambulance to Spectrum-Zeeland Hospital with head and arm injuries. Her passenger, another 16 year old girl, wasn’t hurt.
Police closed the road for about 90 minutes, for the safety of emergecy responders and utility crews.
This crash remains under investigation by police.
