LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A taxi company run by a Holland woman is apparently out of business for not operating with a state license.
In a statement released on Wednesday morning, the Michigan Corporations, Security and Commercial Licensing Bureau issued a “Cease and Desist Order” against Sarah Baird for running Sunset Transport “as a limousine carrier or taxicab carrier without having registered with the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, as required under Michigan’s Limousine, Taxicab, and Transportation Network Company Act.”
The order, dated September 5th, claimed that Baird had filed “articles of organization” for Sunset Transport LLC on July 2nd, but that was three months after LARA received a complaint from a “JT” about operating a taxicab without being registered. Other violations were noted in the formal cease and desist order.
Baird has the right under the Act to request a hearing by October 5th in response to the order.
