HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) – Holland Board of Public Works will celebrate Public Power Week, Oct. 6-12, 2019, with an open house from 4-6:30 p.m. Oct. 11, 2019, at Holland Energy Park, 1 Energy Park Way, Holland.
HBPW is one of more than 2,000 community utility companies across the U.S., which deliver electricity to more than 49 million Americans. HBPW has operated for 126 years.
Public Power Week emphasizes the advantages of local, public power non-profits.
On Oct. 11, Energy Park visitors will be treated to popcorn and ice cream, as well as get flashlights, energy smart efficiency kits, toy hard hats and coloring books for children.
The family friendly activities will include a touch-a-truck experience, self-guided tours of the park’s visitor center, and walks on the Holland Energy Park Trail.
