HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 18, 2022) – A tradition dating back to the earliest days in Holland resumes today.
The regular season for the Holland Farmers Market begins at 8 AM. On Wednesdays and Saturdays through October 29th, and Saturdays through December 17th, nearly 100 local farmers, speciality food vendors and food trucks will be selling a variety of products from 8 AM to 2 PM at the 8th Street Market Place outside of the Heeringa Holland Civic Center Place. There will also be flowers and other items available.
There is a new Market Master in place, with Brooke Callaghan taking over for Sara Cozolino, who stepped down late last year.
While some features return, such as accepting Bridge and Pandemic EBT cards, the market continues to participate in the Double Up Food Bucks program, allowing these card holders to multiply their spending on approved food products. Senior FRESH and WIC Project FRESH are also accepted, and a Kids Produce Program is back for a second year. After a two-year hiatus due to COVID health protocols, the Wednesday Kids Activities series resumes on June 15th through August 17th.
