HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Allegan County health officials have announced the first phase of aerial spraying against Eastern Equine Encephalitis (Triple E) happened overnight, covering portions of southeast Trowbridge Township and southwest Otsego Township.
Tonight, Oct. 4, 2019, spraying is set for southeast Gun Plain Township the the remaining portions of southeast Trowbridge Township and southwest Otsego Township.
All aerial spraying is weather dependent, but is set to start at dusk and stop by 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019.
Area residents may see a low-flying aircraft, which will be applying an insecticide using an ultra-low volume spray designed to dispense such fine aerosol droplets, they stay suspended in the air, killing adult mosquitoes on contact.
Property owners who opted out before 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, should not be sprayed.
