HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Tonight’s Holland City Council members are set to review tonight’s agenda at 5:30 p.m. and have a regular business meeting at 7 p.m. today, Nov. 20, 2019, at Holland City Hall’s council chambers, 270 S. River Ave.
New Holland Mayor Nathan Bocks will ead the opening prayer, which will be followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
As part of organzing under a new administration, they’ll chose a mayor pro tem – a role currently held by long-time Councilman Mike Tretheway.
Council members will also discuss a year-end budget amendment for VenueWorks, the company contracted to manage the Holland Civic Center Place. VenueWorks officials sent a letter to the city saying they are “upside-down” when it comes to finances at the Civic Center, citng nearly $49,000 in start-up costs, more than $82,000 in consulting and base-management fees and more than $117,000 written off, so far this year
VenuWorks’ letter acknowledges the company will cover a remaining budget shortfall of just over $46,000.
Council members will also review council rules and designate a board member to sit on the city’s planning commission; as well as review proposed ordinance updates on sewers and downtown traffic rules, among other items.
