HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — An annual tradition resumes at DeVos Fieldhouse today — Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019.
Around 1,500 people are expected to receive a hearty meal and more during the Holland Rescue Mission’s Great Thanksgiving Banquet. It has been a labor of love for the Mission and hundreds of volunteers for more than 20 years.
Besides the meal, attending families in need will also receive care boxes filled with amenities that normally can’t be purchased using Bridge/SNAP cards.
The Mission will be collecting receipts from Family Fare and D&W grocery stores for the annual US Postal Service food drive.
Mission officials say that all volunteer slots for the banquet have been filled. Anyone is welcome to the feast — those who can are encouraged to donate to support the Mission.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with food being served starting at 6 p.m. at the DeVos Fieldhouse, 222 Fairbanks Ave, in Holland. Learn more: hollandrescue.org/.
