HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A social media post about a 13-year-old girl being followed and harassed by a man in a white van Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019, appears not to be a case of stranger danger.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies were called and did investigate the report of a suspicious white van near the intersection of Felch Stree. near 104th Avenue in Holland Township just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesda.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Capt. Jake Sparks tells WHTC that a 13 year-old girls reported seeing the vehicle while she was walking in the area.
But, he added in his emailed response to WHTC, “there was no report of the vehicle following the female. The vehicle pulled into several driveways in the area where the female was walking, before leaving the area,” Sparks wrote. “The driver of the van never made contact with the female, spoke to her or gestured to her in any way.”
Sparks added that school resource deputies are also aware of the incident they are working with Zeeland Public Schools officials.
