HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies stayed busy with a series of traffic crashes that caused five injuries overall, on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019.
- A 29-year-old West Olive man was hosptialized after his Ford F-150 hit a tree on Croswell Street near Hiawatha Drive in Port Sheldon Township last night just after 6:30 p.m. He was went by ambulance to Holland Hospital in critical condition.
- Mechanical issues caused a crash that left a 50-year-old Wayland woman with serious injuries just after 5 p.m. on 20th Avenue near Baldwin Street in Georgetown Township. She was trying to push her broken-down car off the road, when she slipped and fell. Her car rolled over her. She was rushed to Spectrum Health Butterworth in serious condition.
- A crash at the intersection of 120th Avenue and Riley Street in Holland Township just after 7:45 p.m. hurt three people. Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies found a 65-year-old Holland woman driving a Dodge Caliber east on Riley collided with Dodge Journey that had been westbound, with a 46-yearoold Holland man at the wheel. He had a 6-year-old female passenger.
The man in the Journey been turning south onto 120th when the crash happened. Both drivers told police they had a green light before the crash, and the right-of-way.
The crash caused injuries: to the Holland woman’s; facial injuries to the 6-year-old girl; and chest pains for the Holland man.
All went by ambulance to Holland Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
