LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The Lakeshore’s lone Michigan State Police post will be getting a new trooper.
Erin Hietala of Northville was among 43 recruits sworn in on Friday at the Lansing Center during the graduation ceremonies of the 136th Trooper School. She was assigned to the Wayland Post after 25 weeks of training.
Heading to the Rockford post, which covers Ottawa County, are John Brant of Escanaba, Lauren Posthumus of Lowell and Joseph Read of Dearborn.
There were no graduates from any communities in Ottawa or Allegan counties, as the state police now has 1,238 troopers assigned across Michigan. The next Trooper School begins on January 26th.
