HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The Holland Civic Center will be front and center before the Holland City Council tonight.
The biweekly work-study session that begins at 7 PM will take about an hour to update the progress on the entire renovation project – from its current construction and budget to a possible liquor license and overall site improvements. Civic Center Place Board Chairman Nathan Bocks may be on hand to go over with Council members last Friday’s board meeting in which SMG and VenuWorks made pitches to be the retained firm for running the facility when it reopens by the end of the year. “We want to get that company as place as quickly as we can so we can get their feet on the ground and running and getting this opened and operational,” Bocks said to WHTC News earlier this week. “However, we want to make sure that we do a good job and do our due diligence in checking these companies out.”
Council will also consider a proposed purchase of new furniture and seating at City Hall that would cost no more than 35 thousand dollars, but no final decision will be made until the next business meeting next Wednesday at the earliest.
