HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A program that exposes Holland Christian High students to real-life work experience is winding down this week.
The third-annual “Winterim” brought 135 juniors and seniors to 117 various businesses and organizations, learning more about possible vocations through classes, job shadowing and excursions over a 30-hour period. Junior Ricky Chen, an international student from southern China in her third year at HCHS, spent the week seeing first-hand the various aspects of the operations at Midwest Communications in Holland. “I really didn’t know much about (broadcasting), but this is something that my parents really wanted me to do,” she said on “WHTC Morning News” at the end of her week on Friday. “I did a lot of things this week, I’ve seen a ltitle bit of everything and learned so much. It really met my expectations.”
The students will be asked by program leaders next week to put together a report on their experiences as part of the project.
