LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Wayland is a winner.
That’s according to the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, who awarded the northeast Allegan County community’s Main Street program a thousand dollars yesterday for winning in the agency’s Michigan Main Street Photo Contest. Wayland’s entry that focused on its volunteers, fundraising campaigns and efforts to increase awareness for local organizations won in the Organization category.
The contest was created by the MEDC to “showcase downtown revitalization efforts and highlight accomplishments as Main Street communities,” according to a statement by the agency. It ran from September 11th through December 22nd of last year, and two other contest winners will be announced later this week.
