HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Just where is the City of Holland headed?
According to Mayor Nancy DeBoer, the good ship Tulip City is sailing along well. “I think we’re going in a great direction,” she said during a Friday appearance on “WHTC Morning News.” “There are a lot of great things that are happening, and continuing to navigate and ‘steer the boat’ into a great future is really important.”
She and her fellow City Council members will be sharing their priorities and visions as the annual “Advance” brain-storming session continues today, from 8 AM to around 2 PM, in the Haworth Inn. This is part of the process for city staffers to formulate a budget for Fiscal 2019, an effort that will be different than in past years due to the lack of a permanent city manager. Greg Robinson’s seven-month contract to replace Ryan Cotton on an interim basis expires on Wednesday, and Public Safety Chief Matt Messer, along with Deputy City Manager Matt Van Dyken, will be handling the operational leadership duties until a new city manager is appointed this spring.
The “Advance” is open to the public, and more information is here.
