Karen Jean Vandenbrink, age 79, was called home to our Lord on May 8, 2022. Karen was born on November 27, 1942, in Holland to Theodore and Ada VanHuis, who preceded her in death, as well as her brother Paul. Karen was a music teacher at Rose Park Christian School for many years. She shared her love of music by instructing decades worth of piano students and playing music at her church Calvin CRC (now The Foundation Church). She spend her life helping others and serving the Lord through her work with Kids Hope, many mission trips, directing the Dutch Heritage Show for many years, and was even the Grand Marshall in the Tulip Time Parade. She is survived by her husband Wayne; son Terry and Kelly Vandenbrink; daughter Lisa and Jim Speelman; grandchildren Katie Vandenbrink, Nick Vandenbrink, Ethan Speelman, Carter Speelman, Aleah Speelman; Great-granddaughter Genevieve; sister Ruth Holthuis; brother Tom and Frela VanHuis. A funeral will be held Friday, May 13, 2022, at 11:00 am at The Foundation Church, 387 W Lakewood Blvd, in Holland. The family will greet visitors starting at 10:00 am.
