OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A statewide award was earned this week by a program offered through the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District.
On Monday, the Careerline Tech Center’s Public Safety and Security Services Program won a Career and Technical Education Program Excellence in Practice Award from the Michigan Department of Education at the 2018 Michigan Career Education Conference in Grand Rapids. The program works with area employers to give high school students real world work experience while receiving college credits and professional certifications, and gives participants a chance to develop relationships that could lead to career opportunities after graduation.
CTC was one of only two schools in Michigan this year to receive this CTE Outstanding Program award that recognizes exemplary practices in preparing students for careers and higher education.
