LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Two men from the Lakeshore have been tabbed for state agricultural panels by Governor Snyder.
For Dennis Vander Kooi of Allegan, he will serve another three-year term on the Michigan Blueberry Commission. The part-owner and president of Woodland Enterprises and other companies within the industry, as well as a member of the North American Blueberry Council, Vander Kooi will be a part of the panel that supports research, education and promotion programs that improves the economic position and competitiveness of the state’s blueberry industry.
Meanwhile, Daniel Van Dyke of Marne was tabbed to represent the Dairy Farmers of America for a three-year stint on the Michigan Dairy Marketing Committee. He has been with J&J Dairy for nearly two decades, currently serving as its facilities manager, and is a member of the Wright Township Planning Commission and the boards of the Dairy Farmers of America and the Unity Dairy Industry of Michigan. The 13-member state Dairy Marketing Committee oversees the budget and operations of the dairy producer marketing program that supports the Michigan dairy industry.
If the state Senate has no objections to the Governor’s appointments, both VanderKooi and Van Dyke are slated to serve through the end of 2020.
