JACKSON, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Consumers Energy says that they plan to pull the plug on about 2,000 customers south of Allegan very early Saturday for a couple of hours, beginning at 2 am. They need to make repairs to equipment that stopped functioning earlier this week at the substation in Trowbridge Township and they can’t do it safely while the power is on. The area impacted is bordered by 112th Avenue to the north, 28th Street to the east, County Road 388 to the south and 48th Street to the west. Normally they notify customers well in advance by postcard, but this is an emergency situation, and they did not want to wait.
