PARK TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Add the name of the West Ottawa Board of Education to the list of public entities seeking to fill vacancies along the Lakeshore.
On Friday, the district announced the resignation of Douglas Mahn from his board seat after 14 ½ years, including a two-year stint as its vice president and 6 ½ years as its secretary. In the statement seeking candidates to fill the vacancy, it was not mentioned what led Mahn to step down from the post.
Anyone who is a US citizen and is a qualified, registered voter in the West Ottawa school district is eligible for the seat, with applications accepted through 12 Noon on Friday, March 8, either by personal submission at the district’s offices, mail to 1138 136th Avenue, Holland MI 49424, or email to vandenbergj@westottawa.net. The board will intervew all interested candidates and cast votes in a special March 19th meeting to be held prior to the regularly-scheduled monthly meeting that night, and the replacement will serve the remainder of Mahn’s term through the General Election on November 6th.
