ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The filling of one vacancy has created another.
Such is the case in the Allegan County justice system, as Governor Snyder on Wednesday tapped Rob Kengis to assume the empty seat in the Allegan County Circuit Court created when Kevin Cronin retired at the end of December. A 25-year veteran of the Allegan County Prosecutor’s Office, Kengis was in his second year of a four-year term as Prosecutor after winning a 2016 election to replace the retiring Fred Anderson.
The appointment is only through November, when a special election will be held to complete the remaining two years of Cronin’s six-year term. Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Myrene Koch is expected to take over the reins of the Allegan County Prosecuting Attorney’s office.
