HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – It may not be the best image, but Ottawa County Sheriff’s Detectives are going on the premise that something is better than nothing in the search for a man who allegedly flashed a knife during two robbery attempts on Holland’s North Side last month.
There have been no arrests made in connection with the February 25th incidents that occurred about five hours apart in the area of Butternut Drive and James Street. The Convenience Store of Speedway was held up, with an undisclosed amount of cash taken, but the clerk on duty wasn’t harmed. Such wasn’t the case in the later incident, when a man was treated for minor stab wounds at Holland Hospital after he told the suspect that he had no money when he was held up. The incidents are believed to be related, as both victims gave similar descriptions of the suspect as being a young-looking black male wearing a hoodie.
The single image of the suspect, provided on Friday from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office and taken from the surveillance video at the convenience store, was admittedly not “of great quality,” according to Sheriff’s Detective Sergeant Jake Sparks.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department or Silent Observer.
