PARK TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 17-year-old West Olive youth spent part of his weekend in a Holland Hospital bed following a single-vehicle Friday afternoon crash into a mobile home.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Cal Keuning and other first responders were called around 3:30 PM to the Holiday West Village complex off of Butternut Drive near 148th Avenue. “The vehicle being driven by Joseph Chapman went off the road and struck the mobile home,” Keuning said. “The mobile home that was struck was lifted off of its foundation with a gas leak.”
While SEMCO Energy crews were called in to repair the leak, Chapman was taken to Holland Hospital in stable condition for treatment. There were apparently no other injuries in the incident.
Keuning added that Chapman wasn’t buckled up at the time, but gave no other details as to the circumstances that led to the crash, which remains under investigation.
