HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – It’s time again to explore “Mysteries and Histories Beneath the Inland Seas.”
That’s the title of the annual program and fundraiser for the Michigan Shipwreck Research Association, which is tomorrow night at Hope College’s Miller Auditorium. Former Holland City Councilman Craig Rich and his three associates will present some of their latest findings, highlighted by the discovery last year of the wreck of the schooner Lizzie Throop in around 250 feet of water about 15 miles northwest of South Haven in Lake Michigan. “The Lizzie Throop has an awesome history, I love the story,” Rich said. “I’ve done all the research and geneology on who Lizzie was and everything, but the shipwreck itself is kind of a battered pile of mess down there.”
Tickets are 13 dollars in advance and 16 dollars at the door. More information is here.
