She graduated from Eastside High School, Paterson, New Jersey; The William Paterson University of New Jersey in Wayne, New Jersey; and Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She taught thirty-six years for the Allegan Public Schools in Allegan, Michigan. During that time, she developed the Young Fives Program and created a before-school program for Gifted and Talented students. In 1991, she was invited to Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania to help rejuvenate their educational system after the fall of Communism, this was done through the people-to-people program. She volunteered for the Reformed Church of America, Special Services, and went to Japan for a year to show Christian love in Augeo, Siatema, Japan.
In her retirement years, she enjoyed traveling across the United States with her husband in their Roadtrek RV. She made friends wherever she and her husband went. One of her greatest joys was keeping in touch with her many students throughout the years. She was a member of Third Reformed Church in Holland, Michigan, and currently was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Hernando, Florida.
A celebration of her life is planned for Friday, May 6, 2022, at 11 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Hernando, Florida. Friends and family are invited to attend. The service will be live-streamed through YouTube.com and then go to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Hernando, Florida and then choose the day from the options.
