HOLLAND TWP (WHTC-AM/FM) — An armed robbery at the Macatawa Bank,12415 Riley St. in Holland Township is under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
It happened just after 4:30 Tuesday, May 22, 2018, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Capt. Mark Bennett.
The man came “rushing up to the counter and demanded money. The suspect was in possession of a handgun during the commission of this crime,” Bennett said.
The robber never fired the gun and no one was injured. The man got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, fleeing in a four-door sedan with a sunroof, Bennett said, adding that the vehicle was similar to the VW Jetta.
Bennett described the suspect as “a stocky white male 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-6 tall; approximately 200 pounds, wearing a black ball cap with white writing on it and dark basketball-style shorts with a red emblem at the bottom.
