UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM, May 3, 2022) – The first Tuesday in May has elections on tap across Michigan.
In Ottawa County, only voters in the city of Holland can take the day off, as millage questions abound. Zeeland schools are looking to renew and increase its recreation levy to a half-mill over 10 years, while public safety-related requests are on tap in the city of Fennville as well as the townships of Zeeland, Fillmore and Grand Haven. Roads are before voters in Casco, Fillmore and Trowbridge townships. The Zeeland BPW wants to continue offering electricity to customers in neighboring Holland and Zeeland townships over the next three decades.
Bond issues will be decided in Coopersville and Allegan schools, while the 18-mill non-homestead tax renewal is requested for voters in the Grand Haven, Hudsonville, Jenison, West Ottawa and Zeeland school districts.
Polling places will be open on Tuesday from 7 AM to 8 PM, while absentee ballots can be requested from and completed by 8 PM on Tuesday at municipal clerks’ offices.
