PORT SHELDON TWP. (WHTC-AM/FM) — A crash Friday evening on U.S. 31 sent a Grand Haven woman and a a Battle Creek woman to separate hospitals, accodring to Ottawa County Sherif’s Sgt. Eric Westveer.
Jenna Emery, 70, of Grand Haven at the wheel of a Chevy Impala, was headed north on U.S. 31 as was Michelle Kunde, 47, of Battle Creek, at the wheel of a Ford C-Max. They were just north of Stanton Road in Sheldon Township when the crash happened just before 8:45 Friday evening.
Jenna Emery, 70, of Grand Haven at the wheel of a Chevy Impala, was headed north on U.S. 31 as was Michelle Kunde, 47, of Battle Creek, at the wheel of a Ford C-Max.
Westveer said Emery’s Impala made a sudden left, into the path of Kunde’s C-Max — the impact sent both cars out of control, causing one to roll over.
Port Sheldon Township firefighters extricated Emery from her vehicle and sent her to Holland Hospital in a North Ottawa Community Hospital ambulance, where she was listed in serious condition, Westveer said.
Kunde took a private vehicle to North Ottawa Community Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries, Westveer said.
The crash remains under investigation.
