SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A water main break in South Haven is having an effort on residents north of that Lakeshore community.
According to the South Haven Department of Public Works, an area bounded by 107th avenue in Casco Township to the north, 71st Street and I-196 to the east, Lake Michigan to the west and Wells Street/Webster Avenue to the south is affected by the incident in the 900 block of East Wells Street. This includes the far southwest corner of Casco Township. A Boil Water Advisory has been issued per state DEQ regulation, an advisory that won’t be lifted until the DPW concludes a 72-hour period of bacteriological testing of the water.
No other details on what led to the break were disclosed and officials didn’t estimate a time in which water service would be restored.
