HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The Michigan Department of Transportation plans to start a road construction project in the Spring Lake/Grand Haven area at 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018.
Drivers can expect lane closures, needed for road and bridge work, to be in effect through 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, on northbound and southbound US-31, between Jackson and Van Wagoner streets.

In Michigan, the fine injuring a road worker could be as high as $7,500. Killing a road worker could result in fines and a prison sentence up to 15 years.
