ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The Zeeland Fire Rescue Department is getting a new CPR machine, thanks to a local donor. Interim Fire Chief Mitch Harsevoort says an individual, who has asked to remain anonymous, has donated $16,000 toward the purchase of a Lucas Device, which can restart the heart of someone who has gone into cardiac arrest. The Fire Rescue Department already acquired one such device earlier this spring, and it’s been used on several calls since its purchase. The City Council is expected Monday, September 17 to approve the purchase of the new machine.
