HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 38-year-old Grand Rapids man is in Ottawa County Jail awaiting arraignment on charges related to muliple home invastions in Holland and Park townships, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Capt. Mark Bennett.
The break-ins happened approximately Oct. 5-7, and at least three homes were hit. One of the victims helped police solve the crime — after noticing some of the stolen possessions listed for sale on Craigslist.
Police apprehended the man on U.S. 31 near 24th Street, with the aid of Holland police officers, Bennett said, and he was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect, found to be in possession of some of the stolen items, led police to an Allegan County home were they recovered, in total, about $10,000 worth of stolen items, Bennett said, adding that police are seeking other suspects in the burglary spree.
Police continue investigating the crimes and are looking for tips from the public.
