OTTAWA COUNTY (WHTC-AM/FM) –The Ottawa County Road Commission has set new weight limits for two Zeeland Township bridges in Ottawa County.
The Byron Road bridge over the Black River east of I-196, will have a 19-ton weight limit.
The 96th Avenue bridge, over the Black River south of Adams Street, will have a 10-ton weight limit.
Signs giving notice of the new weight limitsare set to be installed this week, weather permitting.
Bridges shall remain open to the traveling public, though the 96th Avenue bridge is closed for repairs at the moments. Road commission officials indicated that bridge will reopen once repairs are complete — expected to happen the week of Jan. 14, 2019.
Any vehicles exceeding the respective weight limits on the two bridges must seek alternate routes.
