Bennie “Ben” James McGee, 74, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022.
Ben was born September 15, 1947, in Coloma, Michigan, to Bennie and Elsie (Holmes) McGee. Ben worked as a brick mason and later as a refractory professional. He was a longtime member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Jenison, and currently a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Holland.
He is survived by his children: Kelly and Jeremy Buckingham of Zeeland, Kristy and Jon Crist of Cary, North Carolina, Jessica and Nicholas Knott of Zeeland; nine grandchildren: Brady, Jackson, and Claire Buckingham, Daphne, Joshua, and Morgan Crist, Hudson, Ava Grace, and Carter Knott.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1481 Baldwin Street, Jenison MI 49428. A reception in celebration of Ben’s life will follow the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, 625 Kenmoor Ave SE #115, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.
