SPRING LAKE, MI (WHTC) – The effort to bring resolution to cold case investigations continue along the Lakeshore.
Dr. David Schock became a familiar name to the general public in 2003 when Hope College students under his tutelage produced a documentary, “Who Killed Janet Chandler?” It eventually led to the arrest and conviction of those involved in the 1979 murder of the Hope College coed.
Since then, Schock has been involved in other cold cases, documenting his efforts in the website delayed justice.com. “As long as you have people to advance the story, the story generally tells itself,” he explained in an appearance on “WHTC Morning News.” “There’s a lot of cooperation that is required, people being willing to talk about things, investigators included. My work is mostly in storytelling and research.”
Schock will be in the Spring Lake District Library tonight at 6:30 PM for a screening of his latest work, “Heritage Hill Bride: The Murder of Shelley Speet Mills,” involving the unsolved 1970 death of the 19-year-old woman in her Grand Rapids apartment.
