HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The public is invited to The Social Justice Awards ceremony where the City of Holland will honor the Social Justice Award recipients.
The Social Justice Awards are always presented the week of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the Human Relations Committee recognizes individuals and organizations who exemplify the virtues of social justice by promoting equal opportunity and equal access for residents of Holland.
The year also marks the first of an annual Martin Luther King Jr. essay contest where area students are encouraged to submit an essay. Two local students will be announced at the ceremony whose essay best describes what their dream is for equal access and opportunity in their school or community.
The awards ceremony will be held Wednesday, January 18, at 7 p.m. at City Hall Council Chambers located at 270 South River Avenue in Holland.
