HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – An art collaboration featuring a Hope College professor and student will be on display at the Holland Area Arts Council.
Professor of Art Katherine Sullivan and Art/Psychology major and student Hannah Jacobs spent 10 days in London studying the painting techniques of 19th century British painter J.M.W. Turner. They have now applied Turner’s techniques to their respective painting process and the result is an exhibition called The Turner Project.
The project will open Thursday, January 19, at the Holland Arts Council located at 150 East 8th Street in Holland. A reception with the artists is from 6-8 p.m and the exhibit will be on display through March 3. The opening is free and open to the public.
The project was funded by Hope College’s Jacob E. Nyenhuis faculty development summer research grant program.
