HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The Holland BPW doesn’t intend to have its new jewel only to be seen from afar.
During today’s work-study session, board members of the municipal utility will see a power-point presentation by retained consultant The Design Minds of a proposed visitor center for the Holland Energy Park. The nearly 1.3 million-dollar project aims to make the 145-megawatt, natural gas-fueled facility somewhat accessible that not only explains how the plant generates energy, but also brings awareness to visitors on how they can impact their energy footprint and what the BPW is doing in providing sufficient power efficiently.
Utility officials hope to bid out the project by next week, with a completion date of this September. The plant is scheduled to go online sometime next month.
