CROCKERY TWP, MI (WHTC) – A two-vehicle crash sent a Nunica man to the hospital.
Sgt. Kristi Wendt of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched to Crockery Township of Ottawa County around 5:37 p.m Wednesday, January 25, after the crash pinned a man in his vehicle.
Brian Goosen, 54 of Nunica was westbound on Cleveland Street just east of 144th Avenue waiting to turn into a private driveway when 37-year-old Philip Shafer who was westbound and could not stop in time and rear-ended Goosen. The impact of the collision caused Goosen’s vehicle to overturn on it’s side. Goosen was pinned in the vehicle for a short period of time.
Goosen was transported to Hackley Hospital in Muskegon for non-life-threatening injuries. Shafer was cited for unable to stop in an assured cleared distance and causing a crash. Both were wearing their seatbelts.
