JAMESTOWN TWP, MI (WHTC) – A 15-year-old is being treated for critical injuries at Devos Children’s Hospital.
Sgt. Eric Westveer of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says icy conditions on the roads Saturday, January 28 ,played a role in the crash. At around 7:05 p.m. deputies were dispatched to M-6 and 8th Avenue in Jamestown Township after 38-year-old Heather Miller of Zeeland who was westbound on M-6, lost control of her vehicle and it flipped several times.
Miller’s 15-year-old front seat passenger whose name is not being released, was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. She suffered critical injuries.
Miller’s rear-seat passenger an 8-year-old female, who was wearing a seatbelt, received minor injuries and was transported to Devos Children’s Hospital. Heather Miller received minor injuries and was transported to Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash that remain under investigation.
