HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Rallies are planned to defund Planned Parenthood across the state on Saturday, February, 11.
Across the nation, more than 200 protests are planned. Organizers say taxpayer dollars that go to Planned Parenthood would be better spent with facilities that don’t offer services such as abortions.
In Grand Rapids the rally is at the Planned Parenthood facility in the Irwin/Martin Health Center at 425 Cherry Streer from 9-11 a.m. The counter protest is from 8-12 p.m.
Planned Parenthood of Michigan says federal money cannot by law be spent on abortions, and the majority of what it does are cancer screenings and birth control.
A list of the protests is online. The group Women’s March Michigan is planning counter-protests at the locations.
