HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Details are emerging about the proposal for a 54-unit apartment complex off River Avenue and 11 Streets in Downtown Holland.
1st Ward Councilman and Mayor Pro Tem Mike Treuthway says that parking will be available for the new tenants on the first floor underneath the building. Rent will range from $300-800.00 depending on the size.
The apartment building will not be much taller than city hall says Tretheway.
“It’s going to be different and a lot of work has to go into this yet. The renditions we saw were pretty good looking and they do a first class job. We’ve been looking for housing and if predictions are the way they are we questioned last night that over the next five years there will be over 8100 residential units needed.”
Rent will range from $300-800.00 depending on the size. Centennial Park Apartments would also consist of a leasing office, lounge, fitness center and some units would also be designed for those with physical or mental disabilities.
Josh Hafron from Wisconsin-based General Capital Group made a presentation about his organization and a proposed 54-unit Centennial Park Apartments. GCG is seeking a Municipal Service Agreement of a payment of lieu of taxes of four percent of the annual rent to enable the three-story building’s construction, a necessary step in securing state Housing Development Authority tax credits.
The Downtown Development Authority and the Holland Planning Commission both have to sign off on the proposal as well.
